Custom photoblog imported to PixyBlog

A big PixyBlog welcome to Jacques Bron.

After reading about our PixelPost to PixyBlog import feature, Jacques contacted us about his existing photoblog which was running on software that is no-longer supported by the developers, and he expressed interest in migrating his site, photos, descriptions and comments to PixyBlog.

Being a part-time software developer, we supplied Jacques with some sample data in the format we need to import to PixyBlog (a simple XML document), and one week later we get an email with the data in the exact format we require. Today we ran the import without any problems, and now Jacques is the newest member of our community with a back catalog of over 500 photos going back more than 2 years. Check-out his photoblog, and welcome him to PixyBlog.

It's great to know our import isn't just for PixelPost, but can be easily adapted to other photoblog platforms.

Anyone else out-there who wants to migrate to us?

First of all, I want to thank Pixyblog for their help in converting my previous photoblog to a compatible format that could be imported into Pixyblog. My first photoblog entry was posted back in april 2005 and since then I have posted 500+ photos and received more than 300 comments, sometimes very affecting, sometimes very critical, but always rewarding. You'll understand easily that it is hard to consider loosing all this history and experience, so migration was necessary.
I am very happy to have my photoblog now hosted on this great platform and the welcome messages I have received from this community of photobloggers are very appreciated.
I'm here to share and learn so please don't hesitate to comment my photos.
For those who want to know more about the reasons and the general ideas behind this migration, I have written a post on my textual blog. For the technical part of the migraton, I am preparing another post with code samples and a small utility application to help people who need to convert their existing photoblog.
