Over the past month we have been gradually rolling out our photoblogging service to the first few beta testers. The rollout thus far has been very successful. Here’s a little information about our current beta testers:
Eric Kelley : photoblog.conomocity.com
First to come on was Eric Kelley, a young photography student from the University of Virginia. We worked with Eric to move his static HTML site over to the pixyBlog system. The move is almost complete; the photoblog was the first site online and is currently the most visited of all our sites. We also moved Eric's written blog to the pixyBlog system - this is a unique feature of pixyBlog, which allows you to run a written blog along side a photoblog even sharing the same styles. The final step will be to move Eric's extensive galleries over and to get him running under his own domain name. For this we have to wait for the gallery addition for pixyBlog to be finalized – this is due to come online in December.
Trevor & Faye Yerbury : trevoryerbury.com
Trevor Yerbury, the world renowned photographer from Edinburgh, contacted us to design a customized photoblog for their photographs of classical nudes. We worked with Trevor first on the design and then implementing this within the pixyBlog system. This was only finished on Monday, and we are very pleased with the result. We are now helping Trevor & Faye to promote their site.
Sebastian Shuster : sull3n.org
Sebastian contacted us wanting to know if pixyBlog was “basically pixelpost with more CMS support?” We got him set-up with both a photoblog and written blog and he is now running these alongside his existing PixelPost and WordPress sites as a comparison. We helped transfer his bespoke style from his PixelPost blog and also applied this to his written blog. It will be interesting to read his opinion – he will be writing-up his findings on his blog.
Finally, our two newest beta photobloggers are rootcoz.com, which is run by Eve from pixnoir.com, and roamingpixels.com which is run by Phillipp. We are helping them get their photoblogs set-up and customized to their desire.
The second beta release of the software will be online at the beginning of October, at which time we will be taking on more testers.
